Plotter
TLC2 offers a 42" large format printer. The following are the rules for use of this resource.

Poster should be created and brought over in PowerPoint or PDF format. We also can do image files for print using Photoshop. The machine we use for printing has network connectivity, so you can download your files if you are not able to burn a CD or put them on a USB key. Please make sure you proof your poster before printing. We will try to provide tools for color calibration, but please make sure the content is approved and proofed before coming to print.
  1. Must insert TLC2 logo on the poster for printing (you can download it from http://www.tlc2.uh.edu/About_TLC2/Graphics_and_Templates/TLC2_Logo, right click on it and select Save Picture As)
  2. If using PowerPoint or Adobe Acrobat, create the poster in the dimensions you would like for them to print. Normally, this is located in the program under File and Document Set up. For example, if you would like to print at 8 x 11 then the document should be set up for those measurements. Likewise 40 x 36 should be set up with those dimensions.
  3. The optimal size for printing is 40 x 36. We can do larger but the plotter is 42" wide so that is one fixed maximum, it will not print a bleed at 42" so the maximum printing is 40". Posters longer or taller than 36" are sometimes problematic but we will work with you to get it done.
  4. Images created in JPEG or TIFF format will size up. If an image created in BMP format is inserted into the file, problems occur when printing a poster larger than 8 1/2 x 11 (so make sure your files are at a fairly high resolution.)
  5. File must be completed and ready to print at least 2 days prior to the start of the event. We cannot guarantee last minute requests but we will try to work with you.
