Welcome to the HCCTS Homepage

As part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Roadmap initiative, the NIH has established the Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA). Applicants were encouraged to develop institutes, centers, or departments to foster the development of innovative approaches to clinical and translational science.

The Houston Center for Clinical and Translational Science (HCCTS) was awarded a one-year planning grant to prepare a full CTSA application. The HCCTS will bring together The Methodist Hospital Research Institute, the University of Houston, Prairie View A&M College of Nursing, Texas Southern University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Texas Woman’s University Institute of Health Science - Houston, and the Houston Comprehensive Community Health Center as six carefully selected partner organizations.

The aim of the HCCTS is to develop and implement infrastructure, education, and career development programs that will support the science of clinical and translational research, speed the discovery and delivery of new therapeutics, and increase the standard of patient care in our community and throughout the US.
