The conference is co-sponsored between TLC2 and Enfold Systems, a premier Plone consulting company (read more). Plone delivers measurable results that meet the needs of universities. One of the message from speakers of the conference is that, having an effective and powerful technology is an important starting point. Having it being successfully adopted for your business will also require business processes in supporting and sustaining your users and customers. Adequate staffing, training (staff and users), support and maintenance are a few key ingredients.
Plone has been used by government organizations like Texas Governor Rick Perry and NASA; security organizations like CIA; and universities & non profit organizations. For more case studies, go to http://www.plone.net.
TLC2 became involved with Plone five years ago when we were evaluating many different content management systems (CMS) for the Center’s website. We were looking for a highly effective CMS that allowed us to customize it to our own needs. Plone which is one of the many Open-source software CMS was the top choice. Since then, we have developed and hosted approximately 40 web sites for the univerdsities, our research collaborators, student associations and community organizations.
