Colloquium focuses on Biological Interaction Networks

Document Actions
Experts in biological interaction networks will gather at TLC2 for a colloquium entitled "Modeling and Analysis of Biological Networks" on May 15-16 and sponsored by M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and the University of Houston's Departments of Mathematics and Biology. Distinguished speakers from across the country will participate in the free colloquium.

Analysis of large arrays of genes expression and proteomic data increasingly rely on qualitative and/or quantitative modeling of complex biological interaction networks. These formidable modeling tasks can often be viewed as over-parametrized reverse engineering problems with imperfect data, and hence require hefty injections of preliminary biological knowledge to reach reliable results. Leading experts will present current major challenges and techniques in this fascinating research field.
