Fennessey Ranch Wildlife Photography Workshop, Refugio,TX, June 10-13, 2003
In conjunction with the Costal Bend Wildlife Photo Contest, Fennessey Ranch and photographer Sean Fitzgerald hosted a workshop for Refugio County High School students. During three consecutive one-day workshops, approximately 30 students learned the intricacies of wildlife photography. The Texas Learning and Computation Center financially supported the event. Fitzgerald shared his award winning techniques for capturing close-up portraits and dramatic action shots. Students also learned about finding effective compositions, seeking best perspective and most importantly – patience. Students were taught about respecting habitats and the need to be ecologically responsible. The workshop concluded with a boat trip to the rookery to capture behavioral photographs of baby egrets in their natural habitat.
