First Houston High Field NMR Symposium, May 17, 2003
The Institute for Molecular Design NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) Laboratory at the University of Houston was proud to announce the inaugural Houston High Field NMR Symposium. The symposium celebrated the installation of an 800 MHz NMR spectrometer, the first of its kind in the state of Texas. Dr. Ad Bax of the National Institutes of Health served as the keynote speaker with his lecture on recent NMR advancements in the world of structure biology. The “Structure Solution to Biological Systems” was considered during the twelve speakers, tours of the visualization lab, and poster session lunch. The one day symposium was chaired by Dr. Xiaolian Gao of the University of Houston and Dr. David Gorenstein of University of Texas Medical Branch-Galveston. Over 75 researchers, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows attended the event that was organized and hosted by The Texas Learning and Computation Center and Institute for Molecular Design.
