20th Annual Houston Conference on Biomedical Engineering Research, April 3-4, 2003
Engineers, scientists, clinicians and medical researchers from Galveston, College Station, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and New Orleans, as well as the local Houston area, attended this multi-disciplinary meeting. The Houston Society for Engineering in Medicine and Biology was established in 1982 to provide a forum for the development and applications of biomedical technology. The Society acts as a catalyst for interaction among the various components in the greater Houston area including the universities, medical schools, hospitals, industrial organizations and entrepreneurs. The Society also promotes biomedical engineering in the greater Houston area to government and other national and international bodies. The Texas Learning and Computation Center contributed audio-visual equipment and logistical support for the event held at the University of Houston Hilton Hotel. Many TLC2 professors and students took part in paper presentations and the poster competition.
