General Electric Strategy Workshop, February 27, 2003
A collaborative workshop was organized with Dr. Morteza Naghavi, Director of the Center for Vulnerable Plaque Research at the Texas Heart Institute. The intentions were to provide a wide spectrum of expertise to General Electric Medical Systems aimed at developing new technology for the detection of vulnerable plaque and vulnerable patients. Approximately 20 professors shared their expertise in sensor technology, detectors coupled with fast readout circuits, image processing, structural biology and molecular imaging, nanofabrication, and handheld/home based computing devices. GE Healthcare offers a broad range of services to improve productivity in healthcare and enable healthcare providers to better diagnose, treat and manage patients with conditions such as cancer, Alzheimer's and cardiovascular diseases. The Texas Learning and Computation Center served as host and organizer.
