Dr. Ioannis A. Kakadiaris is an Eckhard Pfeiffer Professor in the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Houston since August 1997. From November 1996 to July 1997 he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Computer and Information Science of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kakadiaris is the Co-Director of the UH Visual Computing Lab and Director of the Division of Bioimaging and Biocomputation at the UH Center for Digital Informatics and Analysis. His research interests include computer vision, biomedical imaging, physics-based modeling and simulation, and multi-modal human computer interaction. Dr. Kakadiaris is the Focus Group Chair for Graphics and Visualization for the Computing Curricula 2001 and is a member of ACM and IEEE.
