During his four decades in the technology sector, Lennart Johnsson has taught and researched at UCLA, the California Institute of Technology, Argonne National Laboratories, Yale University, Harvard University, Stanford University, Rice University, Baylor College of Medicine, the University of Houston, and several universities in Sweden and Norway. He is a mentor to PhD and Masters students, organizer and panelist at numerous technology symposiums, member of the board of a number of technology institutes in the U.S. and abroad, and editor of seven computing and scientific journals.

Dr. Johnsson's research interests include software methodology, as well as technology and tools for high-performance, large-scale scientific computation (including problem-solving environments for data and computational grids and algorithms for parallel and distributed computation). Through the Institute for Advanced Computing & Research, he is studying methods of translating high-quality, high-resolution data between supercomputers worldwide.

A Cullen Distinguished Professor of Computer Science, Mathematics, and Electrical and Computer Engineering with the University of Houston's College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and College of Engineering, Dr. Johnsson holds a PhD in Control Engineering, as well as a Masters, degree in Engineering Physics from the Chalmers Institute of Technology in Gotheburg, Sweden.
