Electrical & Computer Engineering Research Conference at TLC2
The 2005 University of Houston Annual ECE Graduate Research Conference will be held at TLC2 on the second floor of the Phillip Guthrie Hoffman (PGH) building on April 29, 2005. It is open to all graduate students, MS and PhD, studying electrical and computer engineering in the Cullen College of Engineering.
The purpose of this conference is to promote research activities and encourage interaction within the electrical and computer engineering department by creating a forum for the exposition of graduate-student research.
The conference begins at 8:30pm and goes until 5pm. The Plenary Session will be given by Dr. N. V. (Ginger) Edwards, Project Manager, EUV Lithography, International SEMATECH.

This free one-day event will share with your students how NASA is preparing to lead humans on an unending journey into the cosmos. Setting Up and Managing Your Own Web Site
A two-hour Hands-on Workshop on March 23 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM in PGH room 200. Learn how to setup a professional looking web site using a customizable TLC2 web interfaces using free open source software. Due to limited seating early sign up is highly recommended.

High Performance Computing User Group Meeting
This month we are happy to present a guest speaker, Joerg Schwarz of Sun Microsystems (a short biography is attached to this email). We will also have two other short presentations on storage facilities at UH for HPC usage, and on the use of queuing systems (especially Grid Engine). We will then open up discussion to the floor, in particular to talk about courses that we could offer on topics in HPC.

High Performance Computing User Group Meeting
If you use (or are interested in using) any HPC resources on campus you are invited to attend this meeting. These systems include the Sun Cluster, Galaxy (Kodos and Kang), Beowulf clusters, SGI machines, Atlantis, McKinley, among others.

Web Workshop: Learn to Create and Maintain Your Web Site
Learn to use the FREE & POWERFUL content management system (CMS) with Zope & Plone, for Windows, Solaris, and Linux environments. In the workshop you will be using the tools to render a web site. The workshop is designed for general and technical users.
Limited seating, Lunch served and RSVP required.
