Dr. Michael Massey Biography
Director of Education & Training Division
Dr. Michael J. Massey serves as the Cullen College of Engineering Director of Corporate Outreach and Development, overseeing the broad efforts to attract major sources of support for the College’s programs. He works closely with the Dean on many fronts, including:
Enhancing the corporate representation on the Engineering Leadership Board; Working with our academic programs, such as the Engineering Leadership and Entrepreneurism Program, a program that fosters managerial/entrepreneurial qualities in our graduates;
Working with our associate deans in education outreach and research; Seeking corporate funding, foundation, and other support for our programs; Exploring the potential for an Engineering Executive Management program
Dr. Massey began his career with 10 years of teaching and research at Carnegie Mellon University in the Departments of Chemical Engineering and Engineering & Public Policy. He spent the next 20 years in private industry with a team of colleagues starting and building businesses ranging from a full service environmental engineering company to a computer software company for structured and unstructured data search and integration.
Dr. Massey earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin and Carnegie Mellon University, respectively. He received his Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
