Since Sheriff A. D'Wayne Jernigan's election over ten years ago he has actively pursued a greater technological capability for the agency. As witnessed by the introduction of this new website, Sheriff Jernigan's pursuits have resulted in new and more effective methods to communicate with the citizens of Val Verde County.

This website allows the Sheriff's Office to provide information to the community through multiple points such as:

1. The backgrounds (work history and education) of the Sheriff's Office command staff.
2. History of the Val Verde County Sheriff's Office.
3. The Fallen Officers of Val Verde County
4. Links to the State of Texas and National Fallen Officer Memorials.
5. Future links to the Racial Profiling Policy and County Ordinances will be provided.

Our desire is to provide a better understanding and greater level of communication between the Sheriff, his deputies and the community they serve.
